Background Stencil Card

Stencils are not something I normally reach for but I had an impulse buy in the early hours of the morning the other night. I normally avoid them, I am not sure if I think they are too fiddly.

I had visited the Polkadoodles site to investigate 'stamp soup' which sounded very intriguing and came across this cloud and grass stencil. Of course a bit of stamp soup also fell into the virtual basket. But I digress

So when they arrived I just had to have a little play....

I did not video using the stencil, well I did but all you could hear was the kids arguing so I scrapped it!

But there is a video of how I embossed and the created the border. It is on my YouTube channel  Mrs H's Crafty Corner

I am entering this in the Polkadoodles Week 24 Challenge
What I Used

1 Pre Cut Green Card Base
2 Pieces of White Card Stock
Polkadoodles stencil in Cloud Landscape
Polkadoodles Stencil in Grass Lawn Border
Distress Ink in Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon
Blending tool
Woodland Folk Perfect Day Stamp Set
Stamp Press
Spectrum Noir Finesse Alcohol Proof Ink Pad in Tustic Brown
Spectrum Noir Tri-blend Markers
Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen in Clear Overlay
Glossy Accents
Large Rectangle Nesting Dies
Bunting Banner Die
Die Cutting Machine
Embossing Mat
Modge Podge Glue

Instruction

I begun by using a blending tool, the stencils and the distress ink to give myself a background

I stamped and coloured the chosen stamp from the woodland folk collection

Using I piece of white card I secured the bunting die to the top and embossed with the embossing mat and die cutting machine
I then cut this out with the second largest rectangle nesting die so that the bunting is at the top and within the die. I then put this half way through the die machine

I repeated this at the bottom of the cut out

Again just putting it half way through the die cut machine
I then used a craft knife to cut to the edge of the embossed bunting and glued this to my stenciled background. Trimming so none is viable around the outside of the white

This was glued to the pre cut green card base

The stamped image was adhered onto the background and glossy accents were used in the shell of the snail and Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens on the mushrooms.
