Fathers Day Card

I always struggle when it comes to male cards, the inspiration just does not flow like it does with female cards. So when Creative Stamping magazine came with a free set of Hunkydory, For the Love of Stamps The Great Outdoors stamp set, earlier in the year I knew that I would save them for this occasion.

We are a family of campers. Most of our main holidays have been camping, often in Devon or Cornwall. There is something liberating about camping. I spent most of last year very ill so we did not get our tent out but we have already had a 2 night camping trip in our garden during lockdown....

As always a video tutorial is available on my YouTube channel Mrs H's Crafty Corner

To begin cut the dark down card stock to 11 1/2 Inch by 7 Inch. Score at 5 3/4 Inch
Cut the paper card to 5 Inch by 11 Inch and score at 5 1/2 inch

Fold and burnish both card bases

I Heat embossed the footprint stamp using clear embossing powder onto a panel of white card measuring 5 1/2 inch by 1 1/4. This was blended using distress inks in festive berries, abandoned coral and fossilized amber

Using  a piece of white card measuring 4 1/4 Inch by 5 Inch. I stamped and masked the boots, lantern and rucksack. There were coloured using Spevtrum Noir Tri-blend markers. The glass on the lantern was finished with glossy accents and ince dry coloured with a Spectrum Noir Glitter Clear Overlay Brush Pen

With a sheet of paper from the Dovecraft Lost and Fpund Paper Pad I cut a panel 5 1/2 Inch by 5 1/4 Inch. The embossed feet and this panel were then glued to the front of the dark brown card base. ( see picture below)

Fathers Day was Heat Embossing in the bottom right corner using Tinsel Red Embossing Powder

The stamped image was glued onto the smaller card base and the word happy was embossed in the bottom left corner

The back of the smaller card was glue to the inside back of the larger card

Another panel of paper from the Dovecraft Lost and Found Paper Pad was cut to 51/2 Inch by 6 3/4 and this was glued over the top of this join
