Are you like me? Are the social restrictions begin to grate on you? I understand why we need to do what we are doing but I don't think I have ever gone this long without seeing my best friend. We have been friends since I was 10, so for over 25 years we have stood shoulder to shoulder through the tough times and the great times and I now have not seen her since the beginning of March. Of course we have spoken but not actually seen each other in flesh. She lives over 30 miles away so to drive all that way just to wave through a window was against the rules.
The theme for the current Cupcakes Inspirations Challenge C495 is friendship, so I decided to interpret this to make a card that reminds me of my best friend that I will post her. She is vibrant, bright and can light up any room by just being in it, she demands attention without effort. It needed to sparkle, but also play to her mischievous side.
This challenge lead me to the world of digi stamps. This is a whole pool that I have not yet dipped my toes into. Well that has now changed!!! The problem that I had was that all the images were a bit too 'mushy' she isn't like that, yes we hug but to send a card saying something along the lines of 'group hug' just didn't seem right. Then I found the perfect sentiment.
" When you're in jail, a goodfriend will be trying to bail you out.A best friend will be in the cellnext to you saying, Damn, that was fun"
Couple that with some vibrant funky flowers and a bit of sparkle and I have the perfect card for her.

Friendship digi stamp from Polkadoodles (available Polkadoodles)
Made to Surprise Stamp Set in Funky Flowers
Spectrum Noir Finesse in Rustic Brown
Spectrum Noir Tri Blend Markers
Spectrum Noir Sparkle in Clear Overlay
Distress Ink in Dusty Concord and Broken China
Nesting Dies - Torn Rectangle
Nesting Dies - Stitched Ractangle
1 Sheet A4 White Card for base
White Card/Paper for stamping
Using the 2 daisies stamps in the Made to surprise funky flowers stamp set I stamped a random selection using Rustic brown ink onto white card. These were coloured using tri-blend markers and the middle of the flowers were made to sparkle using Spectrum Noir Sparkle clear overley pens
I printed the sentiment and blended Broken china and dusty concord distress ink over the top of the white card.
Using a Torn Rectangle nesting die measuring approximately 4 1/4 Inches by 2 3/4 Inches I cut the sentiment
Using a stitched rectangle die measuring 6 1/2 Inches by 4 1/2 Inches I cut the vibrant flower background.
A piece of A4 Card stock was cut to 7 Inches by 10 Inches, scored and burnished at 5 Inches
The background flowers and the sentiment were then adhered with wet glue
