Pop Up Box Card - Vintage Tool Box

I make no secret of the fact that I struggle with masculine cards, so to have to do 2 dad cards for my own children, 1 husband card and 1 dad and Grandad for my own father can feel belittle overwhelming and I fear I end up making them all a little similar.

I fancied something a little different for my own dad so decide to go down the route of a pop up card themed as a vintage tool box

A video tutorial is available on my YouTube Channel Mrs H's Crafty Corner

I have entered this into:
Perfect Time To Craft anything goes challenge, details of which can be found Here

What I used

1 Piece A4 Card for the box
Card for stamping
Tool Stamp Set (found in a charity shop, not sure of brand)
Double sided tape
Spectrum Noir Finesse Ink Pad in black
Spectrum Noir Tri-blend Markers
Dovecraft Embossing Ink
Papermania Embossing Powder in black
Double sided tape
Blending Tool
Woodgrain Stamp
Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap, Brushed Courdory, Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso
Hot Glue Gun
Paper Trimmer
Happy Fathers Day Sentiment from Crafters Companion Best Dressed Accessories Stamp Set

Cut a piece of A4 card to a width of 7 Inch. Along the length score at 2 3/4 Inch, 5 1/2 Inch, 8 1/4 Inch and 10 3/4 Inch.

Turn the card at score the first 3 and last panel at 4 Inch

Cut down the score marks to the 4 Inch point

Blend the paper using distress ink in Frayed Burlap over all the panels, front and back that you can see. You may wish to blend it all.

Then Brushed Corduroy

Then Gathered Twigs

Using the wood grain stamp and the distress ink in Ground Espresso stamp the wood grain on all coloured panels

Using double sided tape and the tab stick the box together

I then went through my scalp box and found 3 narrow pieces of card which I blended in gathered twig and cut to 3 3/4 Inches. These were scored at 1/2 Inch and 3 1/4 Inch and glued across the inside of the box.

The tools were glued onto acatate using a hot glue gun and randomly glued onto the panels inside the box.

And Happy Fathers Day was heat embossed onto a piece of blended card, the corners were rounded and it was attached using double sided tape
