Wizardly Magic Dutch Door Card

I have a Harry Potter mad daughter who is Team Slytherin

The Inspiration for this card begun to grow when I came across the ribbon on eBay on a late night shopping experience. I purchased the ribbon and then spent along time searching for the perfect stamp set to match it with. I eventually decided on the Hello Bluebird Halloween set featuring Tabitha, it has a girl, a cat, some bags, a witch hat and some potions  and spell books. It looked perfect. I ordered it from America and as her birthday drew closer it still hadn't arrived. Then I discovered the Wizardly Magic from the Little Dudes Collection at Polkadoodles and my mind was made. This was just perfect for what I had in mind.

I have never made a dutch door card before so decided this would be the one to try it on.

This card has been entered into the Lemon Shortbread Challenge Blog week 122

There is of course a video on my YouTube Channel Mrs H's Crafty Corner

Supplies Used

1 sheet A4 card in pale blue from Hunkydory Adorable Scoreable Range
1 sheet of white card for printing
Wizardly Magic Digital Stamp set including Papers from Polkadoodles
Sentiment Stamps from Daisy Mae Faraway Collection
Spectrum Noir Tri Blend Markers
Spectrum Noir Finesse in Rustic Brown
Dovecraft Embossing Ink Pad
Papermania Superfine Embossing Powder in Silver

Trim the sheet of A4 card to 11 Inch then score at 2 3/4 and 8 1/4. Rotate the card so the short side is at the top and score at 6 Inch.

Cut away the outer panel on each edge as far as the 6 inch score

With the longest portion at the right hand side score 3 Inch in from the left

Fold and burnish this score and the 2 smaller scores.

Using the spotty paper from the digital download you need to cut a piece 5 1/4 Inch by 5 Inch and secure this to the inside of the card base

From the star patterened paper you need to cut sections both measuring  2 Inch by 2 Inch and secure to the outside of the 2 small doors

From the spotty patterned paper cut a piece 5 1/4 Inch by 2 Inch and secure this to the outside top flap

Using double sided tape the ribbon was secured at the very top of the top flap and glued under neath

The digi stamp was coloured

And then fussy cut out. The Slytherin team member was secured by their head and shoulders onto the top flap of the card and the 2 spell options were attached onto the bottom right flap.

Using the sentiment stamps from the Daisy Mae Faraway collections I heat embossed 'believe in the magic on the front right of the top.panel and 'may your day be filled with sparkle on the inside
