Handmade Card Dainty Hugs

My inspiration for this card came from the Cupcakes Inspiration Challenge which had the theme, blue, yellow and white.

We have spent the week in the Lake District and as I was doing the 30 Day Marker Challenge I pre stamped a.lot of images to take with me. When the new challenge came out I instantly knew which image I would use. One.of my all time favourites Afternoon Tea by Daisy Mae Designs.

Greeting Card Knitting Mice

I came across the digital stamp for this handmade card, while trying to find some inspiration for my mums 60th birthday card. I still have no idea what I am going to make but have made this in the mean time. Anybody else get like that for an important birthday?

Greeting Card Clean and Simple

I often get so carried away with my ideas that I forget about clean and simple cards and how effective they look.

I applied the rules I learnt about colouring fur in the June class by Kit and Clowder to attempt to make the hedgehog look spikey and I think it worked. I got to use my Speckled egg distress ink for the first time too!!

There is a video on my YouTube channel Mrs H's Crafty Corner

Supplies Used
Earlie digital stamp  from the fuzzypuff range at Polkadoodles
White pre cut scalloped card base
Blue polka dot card from hunkydory
Distress ink in speckled egg
Sentiment from English rose layering stamp- have a wonderful day
Just for you sentiment
Polkadoodles snow stencil
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers
Spectrum Noir Midas Ink in Silver

The hedgehog was printed and coloured using the alcohol markers

This was trimmed to 4 1/2 inch by 4 1/2 and the blue polka dot card was trimmed to 4 3/4 by 4 3/4 Inch.

The sentiment was stamped using speckled egg distress ink then heat embossed in snowflake tinsel

Over the top right corner I used the snow stencil and the distress ink.

The blue card was glued behind the image and this was glued to the scalloped card base

A piece of pink paper was glued inside which measured 4 1/4 by 4 1/4 Inch and the sentiment was stamped in Silver

I have entered this into CAS challenge

Flowerpot Card

Digi Choosday challenge week 30 starts today. There is a great prize up for grabs and you can get a MASSIVE 35% off their digital images for today. You can find full details  and discount code on their blog Polkadoodles Digi Choosday

Our design brief for this weeks challenge was a summery fun card using an animal image and a specific colour palette.

For the image I used the Horace and Boo Sleepy Pots digital stamp. My Inspiration came from chasing our naughty puppy out of the strawberry planters my daughter had lovingly maintained during lockdown. Our 4 legged furry friend ate every last piece of fruit, which of course was met by sobs from Martha.
He them climbed into the flower bed and went to sleep in the sun without a care in the world, leaving me to make a mad dash to the local shop for strawberries to try an ease the tears!

Greeting Card Sweet Vibes

I love coffee and it is no secret that I need one to function before I can even string a sentence together on a morning. I love the smell of freshly ground beans, the bitter taste and the feeling of being alive as it burns your tongue when you can wait no longer to taste it.

Greeting Card Made with Left Overs

While tidying out some boxes I came across this image which I had stamped, coloured and fussy cut at some point but I had forgotten about, I have no idea what my original intent had been for it. But it is way to cute to be left unloved

Greeting Card Clearly Besotted July Release

I was really excited to get my hands on one of the July releases from Clearly Besotted. I could not afford them all and found it a very difficult decision picking which set I wanted. I eventually settled on Tree house treasures. Here is my first creation with it

Greeting Card Alphabears

I have seen a number of images like this on crop up on Instagram over the course of the last few months which have all used clear stamps. I had planned to save and get a set on my next pay day. However due to the success I have recently had with digital stamps when I came across this set by Lili of the Valley on Etsy I just had to have it. I especially like the fact that now I have formatted this I have been able to save it and so it will literally take 2 minutes to print next time. Of course I love the feel of the acrylic stamp in the stamp press but digital stamps do have some advantages. I like the fact I can resize and do not have to worry about storage.

Greeting Card Get Well Sparkles

Handmade Card
I Decided to have a little play with the cutting files I got with the Polkadoodles Sparkles collection. I love the outcome

Greeting Card Flower Shaker

I love the Papercraft Society July box it is so vibrant and fun. I love the idea of moving cards but for now wanted to just make a plain old shaker. I think I need to have a little play with the moving dies before I will be confident enough to film myself making one.

Greeting Card Leopard

I am trying  to push out of my comfort zone and this card is one of them creations. The image is not one I would normal go for but I decided to try something a little different

Greeting Card Teachers

It is that time of year where we need to think about teachers cards. It has been a very strange school year and currently only one of my children is in school. In England at the moment there are limited years in school and Jack falls into the last year of primary school so he is back with just 14 of his year group. He asked me to make cards so he can take them in when they break up for the summer. To further complicate things Jack is currently being taught by Martha's teacher!

Greeting Card Sparkle On Film

Sparkle really has that wow factors and I love the entire collection. I am very new to
digi stamps and how to re size and format them to be exactly where I want them.

Greeting Card Namaste

Todays handmade greeting card is yoga inspired. I  am really missing my yoga lesson, I turned up at my first ever yoga session with a BMI of just 17.3 and had never done any yoga in my life. My body was weak and as tired physically as was I mentally. I felt betrayed by my body, it had snatched my health and with it an awful lot of my fight. I am a runner, the world seems brighter and problems pale into insignificance as my feet pound the pavement but I had been told by my medical team that I must under no circumstances go running. My weight meant that I would be placing my heart under too much stain. I need to exercise for my sanity I wailed at my sister in law. Try yoga she tentively suggested. I laughed yoga, but that is too gentle I need to feel like my lungs are bursting....

She won me round and how wrong was I was. My lungs do feel like they are bursting at times as I tense every part of my body to stay in a position. But In the same session I can feel that odd calm as I focus purely on breathing. I have come along way in my recovery since then and am so much stronger and that is thanks to the loving nurturing ladies in my yoga class. I am by far the youngest there at the ripe old age of 36 but that doesn't matter they welcomed me and supported me and will never know just how much they have aided me in my recovery.

Greeting Card Sunflowers

I started to colour this as part of the Daily Markers 30 day challenge. For those of you that follow me on Instagram you will have seen me colouring this digi stamp as part of the day 1 of this challenge. Well I love has come out so decided to turn it into a card.

Greeting Card Gnome Love

Todays Handmade Greeting Card is for the Cupcakes Inspiration challenge. The theme theme for this round is flowers with Pearl's or sequins

Papercraft Society June Box Make

So I got the email to tell me Julys box had been released and had a mild panic as I had not made anything yet with my June box. I wanted to make a shaker but felt a little overwhelmed with the endless possibilities of ideas racing through my mind.

Simple but Colourful

I wanted to try something a little different here. I make loads if cute and pretty cards but these are not to everyone's taste. I think it is important to push myself out of my comfort zone in order to progress my skills

Big Three O

We have a special 30th birthday. My Sister in Law turns 30 and so this card needed to be super special. Not only does she put up with my brother but was a massive support to both, myself, my husband and the kids when I was undergoing my cancer treatment. She picked me up, wiped my tears and fed me cake.

Quaint Church

Thia stamp makes me think of home. We are not very religious people and do not attend church but on the hill above our village is an impressive church some parts of which date back to the 13th Century. As you drive down the winding country road, the bell tower some how brings a sense of home. If the weather is bad and it is foggy the church is often the first visual you get of the village.

Panda Perfection

I have a special place in my heart for pandas.

Years ago I was sat on my Grandad's knee as a little girl and there was a panda on the tv. Apparently I turned to my Grandad, patted his belly and said the name of the panda. It stuck and I still call him it today as do my children.

A little gift

I decided to try to create a  little gift that will fit inside a normal card envelope and can be posted with the card. This cute little bookmark uses a Digi Stamp from the Polkadoodles Darling Buds Collection. I love snowdrops, to me they signify the start of spring, mother nature is beginning to wake up and re grow gracing us all with her beauty.

Leaf Play

I placed an order from America just before the world locked down. I wanted to make a magical card for Martha's birthday but due to the Virus the stamp set did not arrive in time so I had to rethink my plans. This stamp set was one I ordered at the same time and as it took so long to arrive I had actually forgotten all about it so it was a lovely surprise. It is such a fun set, I can see the animals all running about the forest throwing the autumn leaves at each other. Anyway I digress

Go Wild

Here is another background that my daughter help me to make. I am absolutely thrilled that she wants to be in my craft room, I hope it continues for a long time. It is nice to spend time creating with her.

Papercraft Society July Unboxing

*Spoiler Alert*
please do not click on the link if you do not want to see the contents of July's PaperCraft Society Box

My July box has arrived. The June box was late so it feels like no time at all since I got the June box so was a little shocked to get the email to say my July box had been dispatched.

Everyone needs a unicorn

Sparkles, my social media has been flooded recently with cards of the most adorable unicorn from the Polkadoodles Sparkle collection, the matching digi papers are also adorable and so I just had to add her to my collection. I am sure you will agree she is super cute and fun.

Tropical Treetop Slouth

I love this bright background against the contrast of the brown sloth, there is something oddly summery about it.
The card is made using the free Stampendous stamp set, Treetop Tropics which came with issue 85 of Creative Stamping

New Home

So the world is finally starting to go back to some form of normally and this is
bringing a great amount of excitement to everyone. Especially those that can finally
move home. My brother and his partner being one of those couples who had to put their home move on hold. You know card makers do not really need an excuse to make a card…

Spring Blossom Embossed Card

This card uses one of my bargain finds from last week. A Daisy Mae Design Stamp in Spring Blossom. I am really pleased with how this coloured up and love the new shade of Tri-blend pen the Postman has just delivered. It is 'Bright Pink Shade' and has produced that amazingly vibrant reddish pink flower.

Clearly Besotted Build It Beavers

I love these little hard working beavers from Clearly Besotted and thought that they would make a great card for fathers day

Creating A Symmetrical Opposite Corner Card

I wanted to create a card that was symmetrical on opposite corners, but wasn't really sure where to begin. But using the stamp press it made this so easy I just had to create a card to share so that I could tell you all. It is so easy I really can not believe I had not thought of it before.
