Handmade Card Simple Giraffe

I totally forgot about this digital stamp, it was a lovely surprise when I found it. I had planned to leave it as a very plain CAS card but I stupidly left it on the table and someone stood a drink on the white card, so he had to be die cut out.

There is a video on my YouTube Channel Mrs H's Crafty Corner

Cardmaking Supplies
Digital Stamp from Rachelle Anne Miller
Animal Print Ribbon from a Lindt Easter Egg
Orange, grey and beige paper

Cardmaking Tutorial

The giraffe image was cut with the medium nesting die

The ribbon was glued to the edge of the card base

The coloured papers were cut with the remaining dies and glued in the arrangement below

A bow was glued in the top left corner

Two further pieces of coloured paper were die cut to act as an insert and the happy birthday sentiment was heat embossed into this

This was then glued inside the card

This is being entered into the following challenges

Sweet Treats

This simple card uses The Sweet Favourite Stamp Set by Daisy Mae Designs. I really love the details on the sweet jars on the shelf. It makes me think of Beamish (an open air museum in the North of England telling the story of life in the region from 1820 right through to the 1950's) and days out with family and friends. Which is just what we need at the moment

Polkadoodles Bunnita Card

My daughter got a jelly cat bunny the day she was born from a friend of my brother. The jelly cat bunny is affectionately known as Bun. Bun has travelled everywhere Martha has. He has camped, been to Eurodisney, down a coal mine you get the drift. Martha loves every inch of Bun's ever thinning fibres.

Embossing and Negative Dies

Having the kids at home and trying to home school, work and have some form of family life is an interesting concept at the moment. I am running out of ideas to keep them entertained while trying to limit to some extent the amount of screen time they have.

Spring Clean

I love cute animal cards but never thought I would describe a frog as cute!!! However the Daisy Mae Design Spring Clean stamp is an exception to that rule.

This cute little guy looks like he is throughly enjoying his scrub in the bucket and as such it needed a plain and simple card to allow the stamp to do the talking.

Distress Ink Background Card

The stamp in this card was one of my bargain finds, a few weeks ago and I love the vibrant flowers in the cart. It reminded me of marigolds which got my little mind working and reminded me of the dried marigold distress ink I have in my stash.

I wanted to create a background that complimented the flower colours but which did not deter your view point from the stamped image as I wanted that to remain the focal point.

Up, Up and Away Easy Fun Twisted Gatefold Card

This is a super easy card to make. I used the Daisy Mae Design Hot Air Ballon Stamp. This was one of my bargains from last week

I have had this gorgeous cloud paper for a little while now and feel this has given it the justice it deserves. It was a free download paper and Mr Printables Mr Printables Website is well worth a look, there are a lot of lovely prints.

A Vibrant Fun Fold Card

I feel like I am getting braver with distress inks and it is starting to show, I love the vibrancy of this card.

It feels really summery to me and reminds me of a red hot sunset and marigolds. Not sure why the marigolds maybe it is the orangey red.

Torn Rectangle Card

Hello and welcome. This tutorial will take you through a step by step guide on how to make a Torn Rectangle Card.  This is one of my favourite cards for if you are in a rush as it is really easy and quick.

Fun Fold Card

A super cute and easy fun fold card, This has a teachers theme but can be adapted to whatever you wish

Full video tutorial available here Mrs H's Crafty Corner You Tube Channel

You Will Need
1 piece of card stock 11 3/4 Inch x 5 1/2 Inch
2 panels of patterned paper 1 1/2 inch x 5 Inch
1 piece of plain paper 5 Inch x 3.5 Inch
1 piece of patterned paper 5 Inch x 3.5 Inch
Scoring tool
Glue/ double sided tape
Paper trimmer
Ruler

Embellishments of your choice

I Used

Torn Edge Nesting Dies
Big Shot
A class Act Stamp and Die set by Clearly Besotted
Hunkydory Score Board
Spectrum Noir Tri-blend Markers
Papermania Embossing powder (In Superfine Silver)

Instructions

Begin by cutting your card stock to 11 3/4 Inch by 5 1/2 Inch
Score at 2, 4, 8, and 10 Inch along the length
Place a tiny mark at 6 Inch on both edges and using your ruler score from the middle point of the middle column to the corner of the first score mark (see picture below)

Trim 1/4 off the 1st panel

Fold the original 4 score lines, the vertical ones as valley folds

The diagonal score lines then want to be folded as mountain folds.
Cut 2 panels 1.5 Inch by 5 Inch and stick these to the outer columns with the glue of your choice

In order to cut the 8 triangles, first cut a piece of plain paper stock to 5 Inch by 3 1/2 Inch. Mark this at 1 3/4 Inch on the short side and 2.5 Inch on the long side. Draw a diamond

Cut the diamond out and keep the 4 triangles from the edges. Next cut the diamond into quarters.

Stick these to the triangle panels on the card

Cut another piece of patterned paper 5 Inch by 3 1/2 inch and mark in the same way as you did with the plain paper. Cut down the diamond and apply to the front panel

Then embellish however you wish. I used the big shot to die cut 2 different sized torn edge rectangles.
I stuck one vertically
I stamped, coloured and die cu an unbranded teachers set I had and used these on the front panel. I then heat embossed the 2nd torn edge rectangle horizontally with the sentiment 'teacher you are a class act.
This card can be adapted to what ever you have in your stash and is super quick to make but a real eye catcher. Hope you have as much fun making it as I did creating it

Easy Unicorn Greeting Card Tutorial

A quick and super easy card to make. The pastel colours work lovely with the mystical persona of the unicorn.
