Polkadoodles Snow Image

It is Tuesday so time for a new challenge over at the polkadoodles Digi-Choosday Challenge Blog. Pop over and claim todays discount on digital images available unitl midnight GMT

The design Teams brief this week was to use a snow image. I got this image before christmas and just never got the chance to use it so thought it would be just perfect.

The UK is in our third lockdown so the sentiment felt just perfect. There are a number of people I want to spend time and I especially want a hug off my mum, like everyone else, my last one was March.

Circle nesting die

Card Making Tutorial

The images were arranged and printed

I fussy cut out the edges of the flower wreath

I pencilled in some stonework and coloured with alcohol markers

Once coloured I cut the door with a craft knife so it opened

A piece of red card was cut with a circle die

A piece of digital paper scrap was glued onto the inside of the door

A piece onto the red circle where the door would open

The wreath was then glued onto this. Using a second piece of red card I drew around the circle die and cut this to give a snow globe shape. See picture below

The front part of this was trimmed to a circle so just the back had the longer piece

The coloured panel.was then glued onto this base

And the back panel trimmed so that it was the same length as the bottom of the wreath

Polkadoodles Winnie North Pole Gingerbread Basket

I love how this card turned out, despite it not planning to use any of the nesting dies I eventually went with or the distress ink. I think I must have just closed my eyes and it came together. I do love the softness though. It allows the rich colours of Winnie to really shine through.
