Clearly Besotted Cosy Christmas

The August Kit and Clowder Monthly Marker Tutorial is an enchanted garden and has the most adorable pumpkin house with a brick bay window. I have only just started the class and so am nowhere near ready to show you all yet However I decided I would practice the brick technique on this fireplace and I can not believe how well it turned out

There is a video on my YouTube Channel showing how I made the card but because I often sit and watch TV while colouring there is not one of the fireplace technique. Mrs H's Crafty Corner

I begun by stamping and colouring my images, I die cut the ones I have dies for and fussy cut the rest

The washing stamp stamps were stamped onto white card using milled lavender and tumbled glass distress oxide

These were glued onto kraft card and trimmed to give a very small border

These were glued onto the card base and the sentiment.heat embossed. See picture below for placement

The images were arranged on the card base and adhered with a.combination of double sided tape and foam squares

The scene was accessorised with a selection of nuvo drops and sequins

A piece of purple card was used with the scallop edged slimline die and the panel.was mounted onto.this before being mounted onto a slimline Kraft card base

Interactive Christmas

This stamp and die set from Time for Tea Designs is so fun, with the naughty fury friends trashing the tree. We use to have a beagle, she was the most beautiful dog I have ever come across, but was totally bonkers and so so naughty I could tell you many tales. Including how she learnt to open the grill door so she could use it as step to climb onto the work surfaces and ate an entire slow cooker full of lamb stew...
Christmas with Indiana was a nightmare she was THIS dog. We use to put bells on the bottom of the tree so they acted like an early warning system and alerted us to her mischief before too much damage was caused. Even as a tiny puppy at Christmas last year Hamish our Jack Russel did not have the interest in the tree that Indie never grew out of

When we visit a special place I buy a bauble as I love putting the tree up and it reminding me of the trip.  We can be like 'oh do you remember that trip to...'
Well my inspiration for this card came from Indie, on one particular tree mounting occurrence my husband literally threw himself across the room and caught our bauble from New York (that could have been costly). There were decorations flying in all directions but he saved the ones that mattered.

Mama Elephant Peek A Frame Die Set
Distress Ink in Fired Brick and Mowed Lawn
Versamark Embossing Ink
Wow Embossing Powder in Earthtone Grape
Nuvo Drops in Mustard Gold and Moonlight Silver

Card Making Tutorial

To begin I stamped, coloured and die cut the images. The die set has a die you can lay on the tree to.cut the head and arm holes of the furry beast.

Using the large stitched rectangle from the mama elephant die set I.cut a.piece of white card stock. I used the heffy doodle pull tab dies to form the panel.for my pull tab base. See the picture below for placement

This was blended in Fired brick distress ink

The pull tab was inserted and I felt it would be too heavy for just the one circle to mount onto. I therefore cut another and used double.sided tape to attached them both together to form one pull tab. See the picture below

The top one was coloured in the fired brick to ensure that it blended in if seen

Using acatate the free falling baubles and the dog were attached to the mechanism. The tree was then secured onto card base with foam tape to allow a gap

The pull tab arrow was blended in the distress ink

The sentiment was heat embossed using Wow Earthtone Grape Embossing Powder  and this was blended in mowed lawn. A cormer trimmer was used to.round the edges

This was attached to the card panel which was adhered to a card base using double sided tape

The card was finished with nuvo drops

Christmas Jar Shaker

I stamped these adorable little jars from Clearly Besotted and sort of got caught up in the flow of creative vibes and before I knew it I had a Christmas shaker card. It had started out intending to be 3 gift tags.....

There is a video on my YouTube Channel. Mrs H's Crafty Corner It is another video using the new format of voice over so please let me have your options, it is all constructive, do not feel you have to hold back.

Cardmaking Supplies
Clearly Besotted Festive Filler Stamps
Paper Discovery Build A Card Panel Dies
Foam Tape
Coloured Sequins
Green card
Red Card base A4
Torn Rectangle Nesting Dies
Distress ink in Chipped Sapphire, Mowed Lawn, Spiced Marmalade and Festive Berries

Cardmaking Tutorial

Using the paper Discovery die set I cut the large rectangle in the green card, I then cut the panel down the middle. But the cut outs to one side as you need them later.

Cut a second large rectangle the same size as the first in cream card.
I then laid the green one on top.of the cream one and glued the green panels you saved from earlier onto the cream card, lining up with the gaps they were cut from. Every 5th hole I left blank.

Acetate was then adhered to the green panel, covering the holes.

Using foam tape I covered the cream panel to form 3 pockets. Using the space from the 5th panel which you have not used.

Each pocket was filled with different colour sequins.

The front was then glued onto the base. The two remaining die cuts were glued onto the acetate on the front of the card so that you can not see the foam tape below.
See the picture below

Using a torn rectangle nesting die, 3 panels of white card were cut and 2 jars stamped on each piece.

These were masked and each one coloured by blending distress ink, one is Festive Berries, one Mowed Lawn and the final one is Spiced Marmalade
The images were then coloured with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers

The shaker panel.was glued onto the red card base which had been cut too, 6 1/2 Inch by 9 1/4 Inch.
The 3 coloured panel were adhered with foam squares.
A tiny torn rectangle was stamped used Chipped Sapphire and reads BE MERRY

Nuvo drops in Silver Moonlight and Ruby Slippers gives the card its finishing touches, along with some some flake stickers

This is being entered into the following challenges

Handmade Card Christmas Wreath

Felt like I was being left behind on the Christmas card front as I has not even started. So here I am Christmas in August.
